Waste chiefs are delighted to unveil the new face of www.recap.co.uk http://www.recap.co.uk, the partnership's website, which has improved multimedia features and a more modern look. The website was first launched in 2001, and since then it has become the one-stop shop for information on recycling, composting and waste prevention. The RECAP website receives over 2,500 visits regularly, but during busy periods up to 7,000 people a day have been watching the website. The website contains information about the district and city councils recycling schemes, what to put into and what not to include in the recycling boxes and bins, as well as location of recycling banks. It has a dedicated section for people to locate the nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre, opening times and the wide range of materials residents can recycle there. Tips to prevent waste and how to produce home compost are sections not to be missed, as these help the environment but can also save you some money. Five years later, the RECAP website gets a fresher look and easier navigation features, including a space dedicated to events and multimedia online competitions. A favourite feature, the 'Swap and Sell' facility remains a key part of the website. The 'swap and sell' facility is a great way for residents to exchange goods in usable condition 'hand to hand' that otherwise could end up landfilled. It's free to use and the management of the site is carried out by the partnership team. Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Waste Partnership Co-ordinator, Maggie Pratt, said "We're thrilled with the new look of the website. We expect residents to welcome it and make a good use of it. The updated information and improved features will make it easier for residents to know how to deal with their waste." "Information online is a good way to provide advice 24/7, whilst preventing waste as no printed materials are involved. Websites have become essential in the modern communications environment and we recognise the advantages of its use to deliver the recycling message" For more information visit www.recap.co.uk http://www.recap.co.uk, or call 0845 045 5207. ECAP councils achieved and impressive recycling record of 42% - the average in England is 23%. John Reynolds > -- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
