Date: 28 September 2006 21:27 NEW SERVICE AT BAR HILL LIBRARY WINS STAMP OF APPROVAL Local people are expected to give a stamp of approval to a new Post Office set to open in Bar Hill Library on October 7. Building work is nearing completion convert space at the Library in Gladeside to create the new Post Office and at the same time the conversion will also provide a new reference library area - providing a first class service to the local community. Bar Hill County Councillor John Reynolds and South Cambridgeshire District Councillor Bunty Waters, will officially open the Post Office during National Customer Service Week (October 2-8). The County Council's Library and Information Service stepped in to help after the Post Office in the village closed. Councillor Reynolds, said: "The Library is already a significant feature within the local community and once the new Post Office facilities open, it will be even more at the hub of activity within the village. I am delighted that the County Council's Library and Information Service has been able to ensure that this vital local service was not lost to Bar Hill." Councillor Bunty Waters, local member for Bar Hill at South Cambridgeshire District Council said: "When the original Post Office closed in July last year it was difficult for residents to lose such an essential facility. I am now delighted that Bar Hill will at last have it's Post Office back and thank all those concerned. Post Offices are turning up in a variety of places - it's terrific to get your stamps and go to the Library all in one go!" The Post Office will be open Thursday 5 October and the official opening is on Saturday 7 October. The opening hours will be: 9.00-5.30 Monday to Friday and from 9.00-12.30 on Saturday. John Reynolds
