Date: 26 July 2007 15:16 FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTARY GROUPS Community and voluntary groups are being encouraged to apply for grant funding from Cambridgeshire County Council. The County Council has about £115,000 to distribute to organisations which contribute to the authority's objectives and priorities. Small groups with a total income of less than £50,000 a year can apply for grants of up to £3,000 each. To be eligible to apply, a group must be a not-for-profit organisation, have a total income of less than £50,000 a year and be doing work which directly benefits residents of the Cambridgeshire County Council area. They must show they are in need of financial help, be properly managed and promote equal opportunities. Groups must also comply with Criminal Records Bureau checks where necessary. The County Council is keen to support groups that have not previously applied and new groups just starting up. Match funding is not a requirement, but applicants will be expected to demonstrate that other sources of funding have been sought. All those receiving grants will be required to complete and submit a short monitoring form six months after the award to show how the money has helped. Application forms are available from the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation (CCF) for grants to support vulnerable adults, or Young Lives for grants to support children, young people and families. CCF can be contacted on 01223 421588 or at www.cambscf.org.uk Young Lives can be reached on 01480 494333 or at www.young-lives.org.uk Completed application forms must be received by 3 October 2007.
