It has been announced this morning that Stagecoach have purchased Cavalier 
Contracts Ltd, operators of both Cavalier and Huntingdon and District bus 
services.

 Following discussions this morning with Stagecoach and Cavalier, we are not 
anticipating any immediate changes to existing services whether they be 
commercial, subsidised or school transport contracted services.  In due 
course, vehicle branding and ticketing will be brought in line with 
Stagecoach's existing policies.

Cavalier Contracts Ltd were one of the three companies that entered into 
Inception Agreements with Cambridgeshire County Council in 2006 which 
committed them to providing services on the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway.
The others being Stagecoach and Whippet.  Under the terms of the Agreement 
this commitment transfers to any subsequent owner.  The guaranteed minimum 
service on the Guided Busway is therefore unchanged by this takeover.
