BAR
HILL WIND FARM EXHIBITION
Saturday 15th
January saw the Stop Cambridge Wind Farm Action Group hold an exhibition
in Bar Hill Village Hall. Around 80 people attended and over 70 new
members were signed up from the exhibition and preceding leaflet drop.
In addition Anglia T.V. sent a camera crew to cover the event.
Mike Barnard of
Stopcwf said “We were delighted to have such a good response from the
residents of Bar Hill and were pleased that people came to see for
themselves the impact these 16 massive, 330 foot high, turbines will
have on their village and the surrounding area.”
Currently the
planners at South Cambridgeshire District Council have asked the
developers to undertake further work on their application following the
flood of objections in the first round of consultation. These objections
include the Ministry of Defence / Cambridge Airport, the Highways
Agency, English Nature, Cambridge Bat Group and 14 Parish Councils, In
addition over 400 local residents have written personal letters of
objection and nearly 1400 people have become members of the Stopcwf
Action Group.
The
application will probably be heard by the council on April 6th
and there is still time to register your opposition. Visit the website
at stopcwf.org.uk to find out more about the biggest planning
application to impact Bar Hill in years.
